Making Money Ideas For Your Kids

School's out and kids have time and now money. My kids are grown but I remember when they were young and seemed to want for everything in the world (Of course they still do). I think I was asked every day for some spending money. So is it your obligation as a parent to give them money or to give them ideas on how to earn money?
I think if you give them money you are just creating some negative habits. That not only affects you but also your kids for the rest of their lives. There are not too many programs in the world that will just hand out money. At some point your children are going to have to learn how to earn money. If you can give them some ideas when they are kids, it not only will help their self-esteem but it will also develop some entrepreneur habits.

The first thing you need to do is just to come up with some ideas for your kids to earn money. This does not have to be an everyday job and keep in mind if they are young this should be fun.

So hear are some ideas for your kids to make money:

Selling Lemonade or Kool-Aid

You see it every year. Some young kids on a corner or in your neighbor hood selling lemonade. It always makes me smile. I think I drank more than I ever sold.

Delivering Sale Bills Door to Door

This is what I did as a kid. My dad owned a store and for we would deliver his sales brochures door to door for a penny a piece. Not a ton of money but my friends and I loved it. Of course in today's world you might have to be careful here.

Mowing Lawns

I know there are big businesses doing this but many neighbors will hire neighborhood kids to mow their lawns.

Car Wash

Many schools do this as a fund raiser but maybe you can organize your kids and their friends to have a car wash. Expect to get wet.

Bake Sale

This can be done separately or maybe you could combine it with you lemonade stand.

Babysitting

This is an old time favorite and I think in some communities the schools might have a class on babysitting. I would check it out.

Dog Walking or Pet Care

This also has become big business but in many households where there are two income workers they have pets that need care.

Allowance

Of course this can also seem like a handout. I would just make sure that there are chores involved so the kids feel like they are earning the money not being given the money.

These are a few ideas and of course there are many more ways that kids can earn money. If you have ideas please click on comments and write down some ideas. I would appreciate it and many readers would appreciate it.

I hope this helps and good luck making money.
